Two Tags Are Up!
On the morning of September 8, we were surprised to find that one of the tags had popped up! The Fish 6 tag, sponsored by the Western Pacific Fisheries Management Council, showed up about 500 nautical miles southeast of Kona. The 150 pound marlin was caught on Miss Mojo by HIBT's Sherry Vann and tagged by Bob Kurz on August 11.

Its uncontested lead in the Great Marlin Race was short-lived, however; on September 10 another tag popped up about 200 miles further off. This tag, from Fish 3, was sponsored by Stephen Chow and Bob Duerr. The 170 pound marlin was caught August 4 by Ron Rudy aboard Anxious, and tagged by Jeff Metzler. And because it had traveled a bit further -- approximately 691 nautical miles -- Fish 6 is our current Race Leader!

We'll keep checking for new tags, and will keep everyone posted as they come up!
