A Third Tag Surfaces

In the middle of the night on September 17 a third tag surfaced, just 85 miles west of Kona.  This tag had been deployed on Fish 10, a 150-lb. marlin tagged on 8/16 by Kevin Nakamaru, Captain of Northern Lights caught by angler Debbi David.  The tag was co-sponsored by the Pajaro Valley Gamefish Club #1 and the Hilton Grand Vacations Club - Japan.  It was interesting to see that this marlin's tag showed up so close to the islands after 33 days at liberty -- when the other marlin had traveled more than 500 miles in the same length of time.  Once we have the tracks we may have some idea whether this marlin stayed close the entire time, or if it ventured away and then returned.  We'll know more in a few weeks!
